Healing and Retreat Center
PURPOSE:
The afflicted and bondage of a broken heart knows no age or social status. It is just as likely to be found in a 45 year old corporate executive as in a young child. Even as a disease such as cancer afflicts people without any seeming rhyme or reason, so too a broken heart can be found in hundreds of thousands of people who are trying desperately to hide behind a pain that never leaves them. It is our desire and purpose at Hidden Heart Ranch to bring those who feel hopeless and overwhelmed in this pain, to a refuge where they can receive help and healing for their broken hearts.
GOAL:
We have found that when people possess a sense of worth, a feeling of purpose for their lives, they will naturally begin to work toward fulfilling it. All they need is a chance to learn and be healed. Hidden Heart Ranch offers these people a safe place to come and live temporarily while receiving help.
While recognizing the tremendous need for this type of healing in our world and especially in western society, it is acknowledged that there are limits to our ability to reach everyone. Our focus therefore is on individuals that were enjoying life until a severe setback prohibited their ability to move forward in life. Therefore only applicants that do not have a history of mental health issues will be accepted. It is our goal to administrate healing, hope and health by impacting as many lives as possible, returning people to productive and fulfilling lives, so they in turn will reach out to others, applying the same love, acceptance, hope and encouragement that they themselves received.
PLAN:
Located in the beautiful Bitterroot valley of Western Montana, USA, our last-best-place
property is 320 acres of abundant pine and aspen trees, lush wetlands, peaceful wildflower filled meadows, bubbling clear creeks and quiet fish ponds. Hidden Heart Ranch is so named for the exquisite heart-shaped natural lake on the property and in symbolizing the hidden heart of each person. This property is secluded and protected from the outside world. It is both tranquil and peaceful in appearance, lending itself to the healing process reflecting quietness and the beauty of God’s creation. A ranch that is useful in provision of pure water, clean air and fertile ground; abundant with wildlife, wildflower meadows and natural grasses. Bordering the Bitterroot Mountain range and National Forest lands, the property also offers endless recreational uses. By utilizing the healing powers in nature, animals and personal responsibilities, the healing center will offer to each patient a perfect balance of interaction and privacy.
MANAGEMENT BACKGROUND:
Carole Davenport, founded Hidden Heart Ranch, a subsidiary of Love Gifts Ministries International with the sole purpose of reaching into the world of hurting people with practical and life changing help. As a Life Counselor, Carole has an extensive background in guidance counseling and emotional health care. Carole’s personal beliefs are based on two propositions: that your health is affected by your state of mind and that your state of mind is affected by ones spiritually. Believing that the true heart of man is their state of mind, Carole’s application of healing is focused on the healing of the damage done to the mind through teaching and practical application of self-worth exercises with high success. The staff of Hidden Heart Ranch is similar in their training and application of the healing process. Carole has traveled extensively taking this message of healing through teaching seminars, conferences, retreats, prison meetings and church services.
Love Gifts Ministries International, a non-profit charity since 1988, has been touching lives on an individual basis while developing and applying curriculum to hurting people. The transformation in these people’s lives is evident to all. A hope shines in their eyes and they obtain confidence to face the challenges of life with a truth that has set them free. Recognizing that there is a purpose and value to their lives, their acknowledgment of their self-worth helps them in fulfilling their goals for recovery. At Hidden Heart Ranch, we offer these people a second chance on life as they work with us to learn and be healed.
BUILDING PLAN:
The ranch property has been chosen and the plans for the buildings are nearly complete. The building sites have been selected and work is ready to begin!
Phase One: Property clean up from the previous owner including removal of condemned structures. Rebuilding of roads, utility work and the cleaning up of waterways for uninhibited water flow. Planting of fruit trees and the cultivation of community gardens.
Preparation of fields for crop production. Construction of the main lodge which will be a large log structure housing the corporate offices, counseling rooms and residence for one family and four young people needing temporary care. In this family-like setting, these children will be nurtured and cared for while receiving their healing. The kitchen and dining facilities will accommodate large groups of 50-75 people for teaching sessions. Additional construction plans for the building of a large barn, corrals and a riding arena. Estimated budget for phase one is $6,250,000 The expected date of completion is fall of 2011.
Phase Two: Developing the property’s natural beauty via landscaping, thinning forests and an inner property trail system for walks between buildings, ponds, lakes and hiking trails. Construction of four single family residences also built from abundant Montana log. These beautiful residences will blend into the natural surroundings, allowing for complete privacy. These each will house a staff family and serve as a temporary home for broken hearted persons that are not able to function independently without continued interaction with their healer. Budge for phase two is set at $2,900,000. The expected date of completion is late spring 2012.
Phase Three:
Construction of smaller log cabins. These have been designed for families to
live where the broken hearts have afflicted all members. A single mother and her children, for example. These patients will have the privacy and convenience of their own home during their short-term stay at Hidden Heart Ranch, while they receive healing and hope that gives them the foundation to face life optimistically again. There will be limited kitchen facilities in these cabins so that the family is not isolated from the healing counselors and the families will be united in the family meal setting at the main lodge. Phase three also includes the development of more recreational opportunities for healing center participants such as a small gymnasium, basketball courts and so forth. The budget for phase three is set at $2,000,000 and completion is scheduled for fall of 2013.
OPPORTUNITY:
Within this five-year development time frame, Hidden Heart Ranch will continue to reach out to thousands of broken hearted people via the corporations’ on-line counseling access. As a Life Counselor, Carole continues to daily touch people around the globe with practical and confidential care. In probability, this healing center will always be expanding and growing and being upgraded. It is hoped that Hidden Heart Ranch Montana will be the launching pad to world-wide healing centers. While relying heavily upon grants and foundational gifts, we ask that you help us with your largest donation. These people need a chance to learn and be healed. No one is turned away based on financial merits which means that we need others to come along side and help with the expenses of caring for the less-fortunate. Will you help us by giving them the chance for a return to normal society?
